How does Prove It attribution work?

Prove It has a more robust method of assigning channel attribution than competing apps. While other apps use Google Analytics data for attribution mapping, Prove It uses Shopify's customer journey data and maps all visits to Shopify's 5 attribution channels - direct, search, social, email, unknown. 

We went this route for two reasons:

  1. With changes coming to the way browsers handle 3rd party tracking, Google Analytics data is becoming less and less accurate.
  2. By pushing events to Google Analytics, you can still access the same source/medium data offered by competing apps, within the Google Analytics platform. Essentially we offer the ability to analyze attribution from two different sources - Shopify, and Google.
